Dedicated to preserving the unique ecological heritage of Riverwoods

The RPC is a 501c(3) community organization that works to protect what makes Riverwoods IL unique – its ancient trees, plants, and animal inhabitants. We strive to attain and preserve an ecologically sound balance of animals, plants, and development in Riverwoods and nearby areas.

In Our Own Backyard, the RPC’s 128 page illustrated book about living in harmony with our beautiful natural environment, was researched, written, photographed, and edited by volunteer residents of Riverwoods. It was printed and distributed without charge to all Riverwoods residents in late 2008 with the assistance of the Village Board of Trustees.
